Bob’s Red Mill agreed to sponsor this contest with four 22 ounce bags of Bob’s Red Mill quinoa flour.
I am so pleased they agreed to sponsor because I don’t know how to tell people where to find quinoa in a store without finishing with
if all else fails, check every Bob’s Red Mill display.
Bob’s Red Mill is an employee owned company based in Milwaukie, OR that has brought stone ground grains back to mainstream America.
Stone grinding had been falling out of fashion for nearly two centuries when Bob Moore came along and started buying the stones from old grist mills. He was committed to stone grinding because it preserves the whole grain and because the stones do not get as hot as modern mills, more nutrients are retained as well.
There’s a wonderful Bob’s Red Mill video here that gives a tour of the mill and an overview of the company, all in 4:36 minutes.
Whole grain, Organic, Gluten Free
Bob’s Red Mill is a leader in whole grain, organic, and gluten-free grains, flours and baking mixes. Bob’s Red Mill maintains a separate, dedicated facility for processing gluten-free products (they have over 50!) Although there is not yet an industry standard for gluten-free labels, Bob’s Red Mill has a lab where they test all ingredients to ensure products with a Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free label meet a standard of no more than 20 parts per million.
I asked for quinoa flour for this contest because I knew the winner would be getting a lot of quinoa seed and I thought the flour would be a welcome change. You can’t bake Rosanne Cash Quinoa Carrot Cake without quinoa flour, you know.
Bob’s Red Mill in Stores
I find these products throughout the grocery stores I shop. And wherever I find Bob’s Red Mill products, I know there is a possibility I will find Bob’s Red Mill quinoa in the same spot. I’ve seen Bob’s Red Mill quinoa on cereal aisles next to oats, on rice aisles, on baking aisles, and on aisles with gluten-free or natural products.
Visit the Bob’s Red Mill store locator to find these quinoa products near you. Take some time to browse around their website. In addition to the mill tour, there are several other videos. They have a blog, recipes, information for eating gluten free, and if you cannot find Bob’s Red Mill products in a store near you, they also have an online store.
