Thanks for your suggestions, Sergio. I thought this was Royal Quinoa. :-)

You make a good point about the sources of the other brands. Nature's Earthly Choice packaging states Product of Bolivia and/or Peru. I am not certain whether country of origin is listed on the Whole Foods bulk bin. I will check next time I am in the store.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Good work!
From the looks of it, this is premium Bolivian Royal Quinoa. On your taste tests you should also check for
- Texture (fluffiness, light crunch are desirable)
- Taste (bitter notes, grassy notes, earthy notes and nuttiness levels). Bitterness of saltiness are key indicators
- Evenness of cooking (uneven sized quinoa does not cook evenly)
- Any impurities you may find (twigs, stones, etc)
The other brands you show at the bottom may be Peruvian or Ecuadorean.

This website is awesome! All about quinoa! I tend to add lemon or lime to quinoa. It definitely took a couple tries before I learned how to make it flavorful. Practice makes perfect.

I love quinoa's versatility. Plus it encourages me to keep so many other fresh, whole foods on hand to bring out its best.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Jen!

I am pretty certain I would have chosen quinoa over rice when I was young. Glad to hear you have found a way your kids enjoy their peas.

When we were kids, my mom always used to threaten to make us pea soup if we misbehaved. The odd thing? She made it once a month anyway. I was about 10 years old when I realized pea soup was one of my favorite meals. Mmm, maybe that is my excuse for all my high school shenanigans.

Hooray for peas and quinoa!

I am loving quinoa lately, my kids even like it better than rice. They don't like peas but they like them when quinoa is mixed in!

These are wonderful quinoa tips! I use it often and am always seeking new ideas. It does work especially well with citrus.

I make a curried quinoa salad that I swear is vegetarian crack. I love it as a snack during the day. You're right, it does need seasonings and the salad dressing does just that.
